The 2024 MLST Mentorship Program is now accepting applications for interested mentors and mentees!
The MLST is pleased to offer a Mentorship Program. The program matches experienced members of the medical and legal professions as well as others involved in medicine, law, or science with emerging professionals (less than ten years of professional practice).
PURPOSE OF THE MENTORSHIP PROGRAM:
The Mentorship Program was designed to provide substantive mentorship on all aspects of both legal and medical practice. Suitable mentors are matched with mentees based on profile information and self-identified needs and professional goals. The program is designed to support the development of mentoring relationships where mentors and mentees can share ideas, resources, and experiences.
Mentors are asked to commit to the program for a minimum of one year, and to meet with their assigned mentee at least three times during the Mentorship Term. Mentors will meet with their assigned mentee by telephone, videoconference, or in person, and will be asked to provide substantive mentoring on all aspects of a legal or medical practice, as applicable. Mentees do not need to be a member of the MLST to participate in the program. Participants must agree to abide by the MLST Mentorship Program Agreement while interacting with their peers on the platform.
For potential mentees, this is a great opportunity for you to connect with a mentor who can offer you insight, advice, opportunity – and help you navigate the next stage/s of your career.
For potential mentors, this is a great opportunity to give back, become a better leader, and refine your own skills and networks.
We are excited to see the mentorships and outcomes which evolve from this initiative and look forward to matching you!
