MEDICO-LEGAL SOCIETY OF TORONTO

The Society was founded 70 years ago by a group of distinguished doctors and lawyers. Its purpose was to improve the dialogue between these two great professions and to address, in a real way, difficult public issues that touch each, including informed consent, catastrophic impairment, the Human Tissues Act, and the role and approach to doctors as witnesses.

On behalf of MLST, I attended the formal ceremony to mark the appointment of the The Honourable Justice Eugenia Papageorgiou, The Honourable Justice Rita Maxwell, The Honourable Justice Mohan Sharma, The Honourable Justice Peter J. Osborne and The Honourable Justice Robert Centa as members of the Superior Court of Justice for the Toronto Region. The MLST congratulates these Justices on their appointments and thanks them for taking on this important service for our community.
