OBJECTIVES:

  • After this presentation, the participant will be able to:
  • Reflect a holistic understanding of the many factors that can affect cognitive function.
  • Discuss how various impairments following mTBI can impact upon cognition.
  • State whether or not objective evidence of cognitive impairment in the subacute to chronic phases of mTBI recovery exists and understand some of the limitations of research in this area.
  • Appreciate the medical legal issues pertaining to damages related to cognitive impairment in mTBI cases.
